SNES9X is by far the most
complete and accurate Super Nintendo Entertainment System emulator to date.
Taking full power of the ATi-GX chipset and packed full of features that are
to die for after playing your games you'll never want to come back to
reality.

SNES9X is a very popular open source emulator mainly for the PC platform, but
has seen many ports to other consoles such as the Nintendo DS, Microsoft XBOX
and now thanks to SoftDev the Nintendo GameCube! This is a straight port and
is not based on any previous SNES emulators that have existed for the
GameCube. You can get more information on SNES9X here from the below URL.
http://snes9x.ipherswipsite.com/

[ What's New ]

* XenoGC Support (GC-Linux Homebrew DVD Compatibility)

[ Features ]

* Port of SNES9X v1.43
* Fullscreen Graphics
* Sound Emulation
* SRAM Manager
* DVD Loading
* 1-4 Player Support
* Mode 7 Supported
* Super FX Supported
* SDD1, SRTC, SA-1 Supported
* DSP1 & DSP2 Supported
* Partial DSP4 Support
* Supports Hi-Res 512x224 screens
* Joliet Browser
* PAD Configuration saved with SRAM
* Memcard save/load time extended
* Partial Zip support
* Crude Timer
* Sound Sync Option
* Analog Clip

Χ—–—–—–—– –—–—–—–—–—–—–—–—–—–— —–—–—–—–—–—–—–—-—–-–•¬
|0OΧψo·                        PARTIAL PKZIP SUPPORT                  ·oψΧO0|
`¨•¨¨¨¨¨ ¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨ ¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨ ¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨ ¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨'

The Zip support in the emulator is courtesy of the zlib library. Currently,
it supports only the Inflate method.

The good news is that this is by far the most common zip method!

You should note also that this implementation assumes that the first file
in each archive is the required rom in smc/fig format.

In an attempt to save you time, we recommend using 7-Zip as the compressor,
as it gives a gain of 5-25% better compression over standard zips.

To use 7-Zip compression on either linux or windows, use the following,

7za a -tzip -mx=9 myrom.zip myrom.smc

Χ—–—–—–—– –—–—–—–—–—–—–—–—–—–— —–—–—–—–—–—–—–—-—–-–•¬
|0OΧψo·                         SETUP & INSTALLATION                  ·oψΧO0|
`¨•¨¨¨¨¨ ¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨ ¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨ ¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨ ¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨'

Unzip the archive into a folder with at least one SNES ROM image. Images must
be in the Super Magicom (SMC) or FIG format. Generally, all images you find
will be in this format, but if you run across one that isn't please download
RTOOL which will allow you to convert the image into SMC format.

After this you're going to need to inject a ROM image into the emulator
before you can get it up and running. To be fair to everyone including those
of you who do not have a spare DVD we've adopted this approach.

SNESGX supports ROM images up to 8Mb (64 megabit) from DVD, or 4Mb (32 megabit)
in a dol, so you shouldn't have to worry about what size the games are before you
load them, but since the saving and loading of your progress is based on the
internal ROM name (header) itself you may want to check to see if the ROM header
is intact, but don't worry about this as most ROM images have correct headers.

Next, for all you non-commandos out there here is a quick guide on how to
create the initial DOL (GameCube Executable File) you will need to load on
your system. If you're already familiar with the Command Line Interface (CLI)
simply skip to step 6. Note when I use '' to only type what is in between
them.

(1) Unzip archive into c:\snes\
(2) Put GAME.SMC into c:\snes\
GAME.SMC can be any game you want
(3) Click on the START MENU then RUN and type in 'CMD' and press ENTER
(4) Type 'C:' press ENTER
(5) Type 'CD\SNES' press ENTER
(6) Type 'sgxi.exe GAME.SMC GAME.DOL' press ENTER

Now you will have a GAME.DOL file which you can burn onto a DVD and/or stream
to your GameCube. If you're unfamiliar with streaming and/or burning a DVD
please refer to the Mod That Cube -FAQ- for further instructions.

http://modthatcube.pxn-os.com

Χ—–—–—–—– –—–—–—–—–—–—–—–—–—–— —–—–—–—–—–—–—–—-—–-–•¬
|0OΧψo·                              MAIN MENU                        ·oψΧO0|
`¨•¨¨¨¨¨ ¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨ ¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨ ¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨ ¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨'

Once the DOL file is loaded you will be presented with the configuration
screen where you can adjust many options before you start the gameplay.
Additionally, if at any time your heart desires to alter these options, save
your game or load a new ROM image simply press the Z and the left trigger
button (at the same time) and you'll be brought back to this menu.

To leave the options at their default and continue to play the game simply
press the 'A' button and enjoy!

Χ—–—–—–—– –—–—–—–—–—–—–—–—–—–— —–—–—–—–—–—–—–—-—–-–•¬
|0OΧψo·                            CONFiGURATION                      ·oψΧO0|
`¨•¨¨¨¨¨ ¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨ ¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨ ¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨ ¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨'

To load the configuration menu press Z + LEFT TRIGGER at the same time and
you can save/load you current progress, load a new game from DVD and/or tweak
the emulators options.

Save Game Manager

Will bring you into the management system where you can Save or Load your
current game progress. You may SAVE you game progress at any time, but when
loading your SAVE please reload your game, load your SAVE and then play the
game. If you try loading your SAVE after the game starts you may run into
some nasty problems.

Load New ROM

If you're tired of playing your current game pick this option
so you can browse the current DVD in the GameCube and select a new game to
play.

Pad Configuration

Don't like the way the controller is setup (mapped)? Simply pick this
option and you can chose which button does what.

Emulator Options

Here you can tweak some of the internal Snes9x emulator options

Sound Echo

Will add a pseudo echo effect to all sounds creating a more
in depth gameplay experience.

Reverse Stereo

Change the audio output from LEFT and RIGHT to RIGHT and LEFT.

Transparency

Some games, such as Terranigma (a great role playing game only
released in the United Kingdom) include transparency effects. Use this
option to turn these off or on.

FPS Display

This option will display the Frames Per Second (FPS) in the bottom left
hand corner so you can see how accurate the graphics are being displayed
on the screen.

Sound Sync

Snes9x allows for synchronising the sound with the emulator speed.

Timer

The original timing in Snes9x is based on the vertical blank counter.
You now also have the option to use a crude clock timer, which may help
playing PAL50 on a 60hz output.

Reset Emulator

Perform a soft-reset on the Snes9x core.

PSO/SD Reload

If you're using Phantasy Star Online (PSO) or SD-Load (SD) to boot SNESGX
from then you can use this option to go back to the loading menu to select
another GameCube executable (DOL/ELF) file to load.

View Credits

You can view the credits for the emulator. The credits can also be viewed
at the end of this document.

ROM Information

Here you can double check the ROM information. If SRAM == 0, you have no
save available.

Stop DVD Motor

As it says, once you know you're in for the long haul, save your drive
motor by switching it off
Download Snes9X Wii Version 0.1.0 [20080331] at SoftwareHeadlines.com

We are pleased to be able to announce the release of Firmware Update 1.9s for Wiikey.
Wii Homebrew Channel Beta

A custom Wii channel created by Team Twiizers, the same people responsible for the Twilight Hack. It allows homebrew to be run from the SD card in a similar fashion to the Twilight Hack, but from the Wii menu, so is more convenient. Currently the Wii Homebrew Channel available for public release is a beta. Currently it allows ten minutes of usage before expiring. Once the channel has expired, it cannot be reinstalled, so it's suggested you use the allocated ten minutes wisely.
Download Wii Homebrew Channel Beta at SoftwareHeadlines.com

WiiKey Setup disc v1.3 (Universal PAL/USA/JAP - see readme)

wiiKey base v1.3 README
==========================

What's new?
=========================================
Version 1.3 of the wiiKey base system has an added configuration option
for the full gc region free feature. It also incrorporates a new version
of the wiikey dvdDump application.

Overview:
=========================================
wiiKey base combines various applications into a single bootable
disc. This release includes:

- wiikey configuration
- wiikey dvdDump (dumps discs to sdcard)
- some of the most popular gamecube homebrew apps:

- SDLoad 1.0 by Costis
- Snes9x 1.43 GX 0.5 Port by Softdev
- GCOs MultiGame Version by emu_kidid
- MFE Distro 1.0 by Isobel

Burn the image using any application capable of writing DVD disc
images i.e. ImgBurn/Nero/CloneCD/cdrecord/DeepBurner/etc

Navigation:
============================================
For those without a gamecube controller, both the main menu and the
disc dumper support navigation via the reset button. Pressing reset
for a short time will move the cursor, holding the button for one
second selects the current entry. The included homebrew apps require
a gc controller naturally.

wiikey configuration:
============================================

Note:
For stealth reasons the current settings can not be read from
the chip. That's why running the configuration will show the
initial settings regardless of the saved setup.

Region override [ON/OFF]
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Enabling this option will make the region of wii/gc games appear to
be the region of your console, allowing you to boot games from other
regions. Most NTSC wii games will work on US and JAP consoles. Many
PAL games will run on NTSC consoles. For a more complete list see:
Please note that Region override has to be activated for Full GC Regionfree.
Full GC regionfree [ON/OFF]
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Boots GC imports directly using a small apploader hook to setup the
correct video mode. Make sure you also enable the basic region feature,
thats what gets you through the wii menu in the first place. Unlike a
real GC, the NTSC Wii doesnt output PAL50. That means the game may
run but theres no picture. PAL60 games will work, however you need to
enable it. The common way to bring up the "use PAL60?" dialog on a
game is to hold B while booting. Forcing to NTSC may work as well. PAL consoles output NTSC just fine.

Audiofix [ON/OFF]
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Enables fix for gamecube games using streaming audio. If you have
backups that are already patched with fstfix, you can disable the
option here.
DVDR Discspeed [3x/6x]
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Sets the default speed for recordable media. Fast or silent, you decide!
If you experience that your Wii resets itself when you start a disc on 6x,
you might want to try it on 3x as well.

Special thanks to:
====================
- Costis for SDLoad 1.0
- Softdev for his great port of Snes9x
- Emu_kidid for GcOs on the wii
- Isobel for the wonderful MFE mplayer frontend
Download WiiKey Setup disc v1.3 (Universal PAL/USA/JAP - see readme) at SoftwareHeadlines.com

CycloWiz Firmware Dumped from f10.exe
---------------------------------------

Zip
| Readme.txt
|
+---asm
| CycloWizLog_V3.0B_D2B_PAL.asm
|
\---bin
CycloWizLog_V3.0B_D2B_JAP.bin
CycloWizLog_V3.0B_D2B_PAL.bin
CycloWizLog_V3.0B_D2B_USA.bin
CycloWizLog_V3.0B_DMS-D1A_JAP.bin
CycloWizLog_V3.0B_DMS-D1A_PAL.bin
CycloWizLog_V3.0B_DMS-D1A_USA.bin

+------------------------------------------------------------------------+
| The firmware were extracted from the executables but have not been tested. |
+------------------------------------------------------------------------+

If you're bored read this.

The program f10.exe offers the possibility to re-flash a bricked cyclowiz when its undergone a bad flash or similar situation. And as it has been published by ALEJO3R7 [1], the application is capable of reprogramming a sx28 blank chip into a completely functional Cyclowiz, which leads immediately to the though that "If this is possible, then the firmware must be in the f10.exe in its entirety".

The first logical attempt to obtain the firmware was through the use of a RS232 sniffer but due to the fact that to program the chip extra commands must be sent to enable certain states specific to the pic, this was not the best way to obtain (Note: This is how I interpreted what he said, but sounds logical).

Therefore we will disassemble the f10.exe and take a look. Soon you will obtain the offsets of the 6 different firmwares that are contained (or that can be used) plus a common code that must be sent before the specific code.

One option is to copy and paste these lines of code from the f10.exe directly into the clipboard, but it may be possible that it may be encrypted in some way such that what we obtain is useless. Therefore this is once again a bad option.

Since neither the RS232 sniffer (or hooks into the write function Out32() of inpout32.dll ) or the copy&paste method of copying the lines of code will work , therefore we will hook the functions before they call Out32.dll, where each byte of the firmware is sent and right before the writing to the LPT port.

A DLL is prepared to be injected into f10.exe and DllMain() is hooked with a write function by patching CALL [2] (WriteProcessMemory() writing over 00401302 the following E8 79FD8A00 to obtain CALL DLLHookM.00CB1080) and in 0x00CB1080 [3] our function with an fwrite() sending the values to the clipboard.

Besides this it is necessary to falsify the values returned by the function in charge of detecting that the Wii is connected to the port [4] (somewhat trivial, if the response is 1 then it believes its a DMS and if its 2 then a D2B).

With these thing we execute f10.exe and we inject the DLL to patch the function calls. Select the desired firmware and wait until it responds with a message that the chip has been programmed and voila, you will have the firmware in the clipboard.

It is funny to see in the code a pair of Sleep() to make you believe that it is doing something when in fact it is just waiting, same with the messages of the erasure of the chip and similar when in reality it does absolutely nothing.
Download Cyclowiz V3.0b dumped HEX/BIN at SoftwareHeadlines.com

Chiip v0.9.1

Chiip v0.9.1
------------

Yet another test version. The last stable version stays Beta 5, but I expect
this version to work quite fine.

Changes to v0.9.0:
- No bitsetting required
This means that more or less all DVD+R/+RW/-RW discs should work now
- The "reduce DVD speed by quitting and restarting a game"-trick was removed
from this version; I will soon add a different way of setting the speed
- Might improve support for different region originals
- Again changed the login process a little
- The Linux and Wiip-AT90S2313 versions were removed from this release as it's
only a test release anyway

To flash the firmware, use the following commands:

For NTSC Japan:
avrdude -p m8 -c sp12 -U flash:w:chiip-v0_9_1-atmega8-japan.hex -U lfuse:w:0xE3:m -v
For NTSC USA:
avrdude -p m8 -c sp12 -U flash:w:chiip-v0_9_1-atmega8-usa.hex -U lfuse:w:0xE3:m -v
For PAL:
avrdude -p m8 -c sp12 -U flash:w:chiip-v0_9_1-atmega8-pal.hex -U lfuse:w:0xE3:m -v
Download Chiip v0.9.1 at SoftwareHeadlines.com

AJ's Mii Editor

AJ's Mii Editor is a program designed for editing Miis that are dumped via the MiiTransfer utility.
It used to be known as Mii Editor for all of five minutes before I found out that there is an online Mii Editor called Mii Editor.

I've recently started parading around the Internet trying to find references to my Mii editor. I want to comment on a few things.
First and foremost, AJ's Mii Editor is not based on the MiiTransfer framework.
AJ's Mii Editor uses dumps obtained via MiiTransfer. If it was based on the MiiTransfer framework, I would've had to link against it or include some of its code in my program. Yes, I am nitpicky about this.
Second, I see a lot of people locally hosting outdated versions or linking to outdated versions of the editor. Stop doing this unless you are able to keep up with the releases. Keep in mind the last few were daily releases, so I'll cut you some slack there. Still, it's a bit disconcerting to see sites having Public Beta 1.1 up for download when the latest is v1.0a.
In the meantime, the best option is to link this page, where you can find the latest version of the editor.
Finally, Mythbusters is awesome. Not related to the Mii editor at all, but really, it's an awesome show.
Download AJ's Mii Editor at SoftwareHeadlines.com

"A FTP Server for the Nintendo Gamecube built with libOGC. This FTP server in no way meets all of the requirements of the complete FTP protocol, however it does work in FlashFXP which is what I tested with."

Features:

* Backup and restore memory card files
* Backup DVD Games or individual files from inside them
* Saving of configuration to memory card and Auto Loading config
* Maximum Speed is about 1.6mb/s to 2.3mb/s from DVD

Note there is no resuming of downloads/uploads and there is NO delete feature as files on the memcard are not easily recognized from their internal filenames and you may make a mistake. Also, please only upload valid .GCI files to a memory card.. I have done some checks to see if it is valid, but if it's not, I am not responsible if you somehow corrupt a card.
Download GCFTP v1.0 at SoftwareHeadlines.com

The Nintendo Wi-Fi USB Connector is an accessory, developed jointly by Nintendo and Buffalo Technology, which allows Nintendo DS and Wii users without a Wi-Fi connection or compatible Wi-Fi network to establish one via a broadband-connected PC. Inserted into the host PC's USB port, the connector functions as a wireless access point for the Nintendo DS and Wii, permitting the user to connect to the Internet to play Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection games and various other online functionality.

This new update is compatible with Windows XP and Windows Vista
Download Nintendo Wi-Fi USB Connector Software 1.06 at SoftwareHeadlines.com

GCOS DVD9 MultiGame Version v4F

whatsnew:
** FINAL v4F Release **
- FIXED MEMORY CARD ISSUE!

whatsnew:
** FINAL v4 Release **
- DVD9 support added
- Gamecube Supported (Softmod and XenoGC)
- Straight to disc listing, no waiting
- Auto menu video mode setting
- If a game requires audio, it will ask to be setup (bit of a problem on GC)
- Game listing re-coded
- Improved the .iso generation speed ALOT

*Do not use Shrunk Audio streaming games (they may crash!)

Notes:

Using the app:
You must specify a region for the output file.
Examples are:
GCOS MultiGame Creator V4.exe output.gcm USA game1.gcm game2.gcm etc
GCOS MultiGame Creator V4.exe output.gcm JAP game1.gcm game2.gcm etc
GCOS MultiGame Creator V4.exe output.gcm PAL game1.gcm game2.gcm etc

It will create a self-booting GCOS dvd

After a bit of tinkering, GC MultiGames are now working fine on GCOS :) Use our own little application to create GCOS GC MultiGame DVD's up to ~8GB (full DVD9 size to be exact). That's right, GCOS has it first! You may pre-shrink Isos first using GCM Utility 0.5 (one by one).

Takes about 8min give or take to create a ~8.3Gb Iso image on a 2.4Ghz P4.

Why is Cobra MultiGame DVD support only "partial"?
Since Cobra MultiGame DVD's rely on games being on 32kb aligned, some are not playable as this changed now to 128kb. This means that most likely the first title burned on the disc won't work. However instead of removing all support for them, I have left in partial support. GCOS will scan your disc, find whatever it knows will work on Wii drives and only list that. However if you run the DOL file provided on a GC, you will have support for old and new.

Technical Notes:
If you want to develop your own app to make these multigame dvd's, here's a rundown of the disc format we made:
-=The GCOS MultiGame DVD Format=-:
Header: Just rip the header that a game makes, easiest way to explain.
Offset table is at 0x40, same as CobraMultigame (in DVD9, offsets are >>2).
First possible location a game can be is at 0x20000.
All games must be placed on offsets divisible by 0x20000 with no remainder. (Aligned)

whatsnew:
** v3 **
- Audio Streaming games now work.
- Fixed up regions for all modchips (Autodetect works now)
- Fixed up syntax on the .exe

Whatsnew:
** SELFBOOT Multigame Ver v2**
- .exe now creates multiboot and selfboot iso all in one.
- NOTE: These new discs won't work on the old MultiGame ver GCOS DVD.
- NOTE: Games Created with previous tool WILL WORK.

Whatsnew:
** Multigame Ver **
- Fixed menu from going to nowhere if up was pressed
- Added support for full DVD MultiGames [new GCOS Format ;)]
- Added Best support possible for Multigame discs (Cobra ones)
- Made GUI Neater in MultiGame select area
Download GCOS DVD9 MultiGame Version v4F at SoftwareHeadlines.com

yaosm version version 1.8
--------------------------
Yet Another OpenSource Modchip version 1.8

USE IT AT YOUR OWN RISK!

Features
--------
- Supports DMS/D2A/D2B chipsets
- Wii originals
- Wii original imports*
- Wii backups
- Wii backup imports*
- Gamecube originals
- Gamecube original imports**
- Gamecube backups
- Gamecube backup imports**
- Gamecube homebrew
- All medias (DVD-R, DVD-RW, DVD+R, DVD+RW)
- Dual Layer support
- Fully configurable speed setting
- Automatic region detection
- Stealth (well, at least as much "stealth" as any other Wii modchip currently available)
- "Safe" Configuration disc
- Optional status LED
- Optional disable switch (solder wire to reset switch)
- GameID overriding for some GameID's that was blocked by firmware 3.0

*Partial support.
See http://wiki.gbatemp.net/index.php/Wii_Region_Patcher_Compatibility_List for more info.

**Partial support, for 100% support use GCOS.
See: http://psx-scene.com/forums/yaosm/55455-gcos-multigame-version-howto.html and http://psx-scene.com/forums/404629-post1.html

Things that are still missing
-----------------------------
- Gamecube audiofix

Quickstart
----------
1. Program your chip with the hex file that match the chip you've choosed to use.
2. Connect the chip to your Wii. (http://psx-scene.com/forums/wiifree/54303-guide-soldering-troubleshooting-pic12f629-progging-wiikey-install-have-look.html)
3. Make sure the first disc you use is a game from your own region.
4. If you later on want to tweak the speed settings, use the configuration disc.

Chip compability
----------------
Hexfiles are included for the following PICs:
12F629/12F675
12F635
12F683
16F627/16F627A/16F628/16F628A/16F648A (has been confirmed to work on 16F628, other are untested)
16F630/16F676
16F636/16F639
16F684

Should be portable to any PIC chip that GCBasic supports and has the following requirements.
- 1024 words of program memory
- 64 bytes of ram
- A decent amount of hardware stack levels (no 12F509 is NOT a suitable chip)
- Eprom memory for easy configuration (can be hardcoded though)
- Internal oscillator (Sure, you can use an external if you really want to)

Installation
------------
An excellent guide for opening and modding your wii can be found here:
http://psx-scene.com/forums/wiifree/54303-guide-soldering-troubleshooting-pic12f629-progging-wiikey-install-have-look.html

By default the chip has automatic region detection and speedfix enabled.
This can be changed by modifying the eeprom data before programming your chip or you can change it
later with the configuration disc (requires a GC controller).

Automatic region detection
--------------------------
The region setting will be configured automaticly the first time you insert a disc after programming
the chip so make sure that the first game you try is a disc from your own region. Doesn't matter if
it is a Wii or a Gamecube disc.

If you, by mistake, used an import as the first disc then the chip will not play ANY backup discs
after that and you will need to reprogram the chip or you can use the configuration disc found here:
http://psx-scene.com/forums/yaosm/56191-yaosm-resources-configuration-discs-everything-else-you-may-need.html

Configuration
-------------
This is an explanation of the configuration bytes:

byte 0 = Regionpatching
0x00 = JAP, 0x01 = USA, 0x02 = EUR, 0x03 = disabled, 0x04-0xFF automatic region detection (default)

byte 1 = Speed setting (default speed for Wii backups)
0x00 = slow speed (Gamecube speed)
0x01 = medium speed (Somewhere in between)
0x02-0xFF = fast speed (Wii speed) (default)

byte 2 = Alternate speed setting (speed for Wii backups when same game is restarted)
0x00 = slow speed (Gamecube speed)
0x01 = medium speed (Somewhere in between)
0x02-0xFF = fast speed (Wii speed) (default)

byte 3 = Status LED behaviour when waiting for a new disc.
0x00 = LED is always off
0x01/0xFF = flashing (this is the default)
0x02/0xFE = fast flashing
0x03/0xFD = faster flashing
0x04/0xFC = insane flashing
0x80 = LED is always on but a bit dim
0x81 = LED is always on

byte 4 = Chip disable feature (you may want to disable this if you have a LED connected to pin3)
0x00 = Disable the chip disable feature (no weak pull-up on pin3)
0x01-0xFF = Enable the chip disable feature (this is the default)

About the speedpatching
-----------------------
Gamecube backups are not affected by the speed patching.

By default yaosm is configured to run Wii backups at full Wii speed however this can be changed if
you want to. The first speed setting (byte 1 in the eprom area) tells the chip what speed it should
use as default speed for Wii games. The alternate speed setting is used if you start a game, exit
to the menu, and the restart the same game.

Now some people, like me, prefer a silent console with slightly longer loading times so yaosm allows
you to configure those two speed settings.

So to get a silent Wii with the possiblity to turn on full Wii speed when you need it then you just
set the first speed setting (byte 1) to 0x00 before you program your chip. Wii backups will now run
the drive in Gamecube speed unless you exit the game and starts it again.

You can also do the opposite and set the first speed to fast and the alternate speed to slow. In this
configuration all Wii backups will run att full Wii speed but allows you to use slow speed if you choose
to by exiting the game and starting it again.

You can also change this whenever you want by using the configuration disc.
(http://psx-scene.com/forums/yaosm/56191-yaosm-resources-configuration-discs-everything-else-you-may-need.html)

Schematics          12F6xx      16F630/x6/84     16F639        16F62x/4x
----------           __ __         __ __          __ __          __ __
V = 3.3v           1|V   G|8     1|V   G|14     1|V   G|20     1|I   O|18
G = Ground         2|L   C|7     2|L   C|13     2|L   C|19     2|    C|17
C = Clock          3|D   O|6     3|D   O|12     3|D   O|18     3|     |16
O = Output         4|____I|5     4|    I|11     4|    I|17     4|     |15
I = Input                        5|     |10     5|     |16     5|G   V|14
6|     |9      6|     |15     6|D   L|13
L = Status LED (optional)        7|_____|8      7|     |14     7|     |12
D = Disable switch (optional)                   8|     |13     8|     |11
Connect LED like this: L<>+LED-<>R<>G           9|     |12     9|_____|10
Use 680ohm for R with red LED and 470ohm 10|_____|11
with yellow or green LED.

For 12F629, 12F635, 12F676 and 12F683 chips the pinout is identical to WiiFree/OpenWii(PIC version)/Wiinja

Here's an attempt of showing the solderpoints on the Wii with ASCII:

V  G
*          *
--->* I C    * * *
/      * O      * - *
|               * * * *
|      | |            *
| * *  * * *     =
|       ||||||||||||||||||||
|      /                    \
|     -                      -
|     -      Panasonic       -
|     -       G2C-D2B        -
|     -   (or DMS or D2A)    -
|     -                      -
\
NOTE: If you lack the solder point that the arrow points at, don't worry, it just means that you
have the new circuitboard. The only modchip I know that uses that point is the WiiKey.

Status LED (optional)
---------------------
Lights up when patching backups and when patching the region.
Also flashes quickly four times when settings are saved to the eprom.

The default behaviour for the LED is to flash when waiting for the chip is waiting for a new disc
change (idle) but that can be changed with a configuration byte in the eprom or with the configuration
disc.

Disable switch (optional)
-------------------------
By soldering a wire between pin3 on the chip and the middle "pin" on the Wii reset switch the chip
can be disabled by holding the reset button while powering on the Wii. It may be easier and less
dangerous to just connect an on/off switch between ground (pin8) and pin3. I do not recommend soldering
to the reset switch unless you know what you are doing.

At the moment there doesn't seem to be a necessary to ever disable the chip so this feature should
be considered as highly optional.

If you have a LED attached to pin3 then it will "glow" since the chip configures this pin as an input
pin with a weak pull-up (to make sure it is always read as high unless it is connected to ground). If
this bothers you then the chip disable feature can be disabled completely by modifying the eprom data
before programming the chip or by using the configuration disc.

Changes
-------
1.8
- Sacrificed one of the status LED in favour of becoming 100% pin compatible with Wiinja chips which
means that the chip can also be disabled by solder a wire between pin3 and the middle pin on the
reset switch.
- Added a configuration byte to control the behaviour of the status LED when the chip is idle.
- Added a configuration byte to enable/disable the chip disable feature.
- Added support for dual layer discs.
- Added GameID overriding for GameIDs starting with W and Y (Makes them usable again on firmware 3.0)
- Changed GameID for future config discs

1.7
- Re-added support for 12F635/16F636/16F639 as it has been fixed (bug in GC basic)
- Minor code optimizations (saving a couple of bytes)

1.6
- Removed support for 12F635/16F636/16F639 since it has never been working.
- Redesigned the speed patching and made it fully configurable.
- Enabled the quick 4 flashes on status LED when eprom is updated.
- Added support for yaosm configuration disc.
- Removed support for rescue discs (no longer needed).

1.5
- Further optimizations to the code and fixed an issue with version 1.4.
Version 1.5 hopefully is what version 1.4 should have been.

1.4
- Increased the number of loops before giving up while detecting type of game,
which resulted in better detection of imports.
- Optimized the code for speed and size. New code is 22.5% smaller than version 1.3.
- Added silent mode (Speedfix default off but can be turned on when needed)
- Enabled support for rescue disc (reset/disable region patching)

1.3
- Fixed problem with imported Gamecube promotional and demo discs.
- Added medium speedfix since it works better for some people.

1.2
- Fixed problem with Gamecube original imports.

1.1
- Wii Original Imports shouls now work (thanks to the WiiFree team).
- Also region detection with originals now works.
- Some minor code optimizations.

1.0
- Initial release.EDIT: Added two LED hex files for 12F629/675/683. If you need it for another PIC, let me know.
Download YAOSM v1.8 at SoftwareHeadlines.com

WiiFree 2.45

It is done. Team Wiifree proudly presents the WiiFree
This code is based on the famous WABCheap mod!!
This is what is does:
- Automatic detection of the region, for the regionfree fix (the first time an working Wii game is used)
- Run gamecube originals
- Run gamecube backups
- Partial regionfree support for gamecube games (originals and backups)
- Run Wii originals
- Run Wii backups
- Run Wii games from different regions (originals and backups)!!
- Support for DMS, D2A and D2B!!
- configurable Speedfix
- Support for alle media: DVD+R, DVD+RW, DVD-R, DVD-RW
- Configuration DVD for setting up your region
- Support for 12F629, 12F675 and 12F683 chips (the installation for the 12F683 is the same as the 12F629)

WiiFree is Free!!!
Please feel free to use the code in your own chips. Improve it!! Share it with the world!! We don't care!! Make LOVE not WAR!!

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
In the package:

* Wiifree Art
* Wiifree HEX for programming in 12F629 and 12F675 chip
* Wiifree HEX for programming in 12F683 chip
* Sourcecode
* Extra JAL libraries
* Installation diagram
* Readme

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Howto:

Buy a good picprogrammer and use your picprogramming software to write the HEX to the chip.
Use our installation diagram to install the PIC in your Wii.
You can also connect LEDs to pin 2 & 3 for bling... bling... connect the LED's in series with a resistor value 680 Ohm.. so
pin2 ---> +LED- ---> resistor ---> pin8
pin3 ---> +LED- ---> resistor ---> pin8

CHANGELOG:

2.44a - 2.45 : Added a manual.txt on how to use WiiFree. Only patching the maxdiscsize if it wasn't recognized by the drive now (which could
result in better dectection of media in some cases). Official support for 16F628(A), now the LEDs are working on the proper pins.
Added compiler_constants library, so you should be able to compile WiiFree yourself now.
2.44 - 2.44a : Fixed a tiny bug in the media compatibility. And offcourse releasing a new version before you guys could test 2.44 (sorry).
Promise: no new patch before the weekend!!
2.43c - 2.44 : Made the disc patching more generic, which seems to solve some problems people experience. Fixed the lack of sleep.
2.43a - 2.43c : Updated the installation schematic for the 16F628. The code/hex is the same as 2.43a. Added a tool to fix gamecube audiostreaming.
2.43   - 2.43a   : Lack of sleep bug.
2.42a - 2.43 : Fixed a bug where in some cases after leaving the Wii off for an extended period of time, the region patching gave problems.
2.42   - 2.42a   : Fixed 16F628 support (please test, because we don't have a 16F628). For 12F629, 12F675 and 12F683 nothing changed.
2.41 - 2.42 : We did have to do some reinserts again with our different region games.. So this is another attempt to 100%.
The status LED now only toggles after successfull patching.
2.40 - 2.41 : Again we improved the region patching for Wii games, hopefully no more reinserts. (because we want it 100% right instead of 99%)
2.39a - 2.40 : Blinking LEDs after successfull configuration. More robust detection of autoregion. Made the code better readable and documented.
2.39 - 2.39a : Sometimes the region could be automatically set to the region of an import game if that was the first one inserted. Now it will
only set the region to the region of a game that starts succesfully. Added fast blinking leds for 12F683 when the region is
patched. Autoregion patching does not work when the disc is already in the drive when the Wii is powered on.
2.38b - 2.39 : Better automatic detection of region (and a way out if it goes wrong). Even if the region is set wrong the !!NEW!! ConfigDVD will
always boot, so you can reset the region. Better region patching for GC discs.
We really need your input.. especially the testresults. As WiiFree gets more and more mature, there are more and more things that
can go wrong. Testing just takes most of our time (and more and more time with each release), so it would be a great if you could
help us out on testing (not only the bad results, but also the good results are welcome). Special thnx goes out to Bell again for
his great ideas and building things so fast that we have difficulty keeping up.
2.38a - 2.38b : fixed bug where you couldn't set the speed anymore with the config dvd. Better automatic detection of region.
2.38   - 2.38a   : fixed a bug in GC/Wii disc detection
2.37 - 2.38 : Automatic detection and setting of region, the first time a Wii game from the Wii's region is used.
Disabling the region patch from the config DVD, disables the region patch AND the automatic configuration of the region.
Partial regionfree support for GameCube games (both originals and backups). Documented some source.
WiiFree is now published under a license (WTFPL).
2.36 - 2.37 : Original Wii import support. Try the 2.36 version to test the GC import experimental support
2.35 - 2.36 : Using speedfix method used in 2.34a instead of the one in 2.33a, it works better on our consoles.
2.34a - 2.35 : Created a version with experimental GameCube regionfree (thnx to Bell). And changed the region patching to only 2 bytes per region
We need your feedback!! And please feel free to modify the source and submit your modifications. Sorry for the bad documentation
of the source (lack of time).
2.33 - 2.34a : Just messed around with the speedfix again. Tell us what works best, version 2.33 or 2.34. Version a, fixed bug
in new configuration code
2.32 - 2.33 : Your daily update of WiiFee This time we reduced the size of the code with 20% and changed the moment of the speedfix.
2.31 - 2.32 : Again changed the patching routine. Better timing for region patch... Almost full 12F629. Updated the Readme. Made more friends
2.30 - 2.31 : Changed the patching of backups. Faster/better detection/starting of backups. No more strange noises coming from the drive.
2.29   - 2.30    : Some code optimisations
2.28 - 2.29 : We need testresults, the problem is that we don't have a lot of Wii's to test on. Something that works here, might nog work on
other Wii's. Feel free to alter the code to something that works fine on your Wii, and post the results.
2.29test1 has been renamed to 2.29
2.27   - 2.28    : Just experimented with the code.
2.26 - 2.27 : We think we improved the region patching. Please tell us if it is really better or not!!
2.25 - 2.26 : Optimized code, some stuff might work better. Configurable region and speedsettings with the NEW config dvd. You might experience
flickering of the config menu, sorry but we didn't feel like fixing that at the moment. You can set the region and speed in
the hex file by changing the DATA EEprom byte 0 and 1.
Byte 0 is the region: 0 for JAP, 1 for USA, 2 for EUR, FF for none.
Byte 1 is te speedsetting: 0 for low, 1 for medium, FF for max
Or just use the config dvd the old config dvd wont work anymore.
2.24 - 2.25 : Cleaned the code. Removed a loop which could influence the region patching. Improved region patching
2.23 - 2.24 : Fixed minor bug with infinite loop
2.22 - 2.23 : Again we think we've done it.. Lack of sleep and not owning all the Wii's in the world sometimes makes it difficult to
design a modchip. Anyways, we would like to thank you for your feedback on the forum. Keep posting your feedback, it's greatly
appreciated
2.21   - 2.22    : Improved detection mechanism
2.20 - 2.21 : Fixed bug where originals were not detected in some cases
2.00b5 - 2.20 : Full drive speed support. Fixed some gc games not playing.
2.00b1 - 2.00b2 : Better detection of backup discs, due to updated patching method. If none of your discs is working, you've got the regionsettings wrong.
1.51 - 2.00b1 : Added Multiregion support for Wii games. Use the configuration DVD to set your region.
Wii DVD Player Homebrew Beta 1.0

Team Symbiote (the makers of Wii-Boss) have released a DVD player Application for Wii.

Instructions:

Burn with clone CD, Boot in modded wii with homebrew based
mod programmed with YOASM 1.8 (I used a wii-boss).
When menu comes up then the hit “z” to unmount, change disc to DVD movie and hit “start” to play.

Keep in mind that you’ll want to have a modchip that supports Dual Layer DVDs

***NOTE ASIDE***
Team wiinja has declared that use of this program on can cause harm to your laser in the long run. Apparently the wii lens isn't made for continuous loading, and using that app (on DVD5 or DVD9) will; cause the lens to deteriorate quickly over time.
Download Wii DVD Player Homebrew Beta 1.0 at SoftwareHeadlines.com
